Who I am

Built by Kyrell is a one-person web design business in North Hills, California, run by Kyrell. "I," "me" and "my" in this policy mean Built by Kyrell. This policy covers builtbykyrell.com. You can reach me at builtbykyrell@gmail.com or (310) 749-6965.

What I collect

What you send me. When you fill out the free mockup form, you give me your name, business name, phone number or email, type of business, current website and anything you write in the message box. If you text, call, email or message me on Instagram, I get whatever you include.

Analytics, only if you say yes. If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, the site uses Google Analytics. It sets cookies and records things like which pages you visit, how long you stay, your device and browser type, your general location (about city level) and how you found the site. I look at this as totals and trends, not as a file on you. If you click "No thanks," or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Google Analytics doesn't load at all.

Basic technical info. Like every website, the company that hosts this site (Netlify) automatically receives technical details when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. That's how the site gets delivered and kept secure. The site's font loads from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address.

Your cookie choice. The site remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics by saving that choice in your own browser, so it doesn't ask every time. That choice isn't sent to me.

How I use it

• To reply to you and put together your free mockup
• To do the work if you become a client, and keep normal business records
• To see which parts of the site are useful and improve it (analytics, only with your OK)
• To keep the site and contact form safe and filter out spam

I don't sell your information, rent it out, or use it for advertising.

Who else handles it

A few companies help run this site. They only get what they need to do their job:

• Netlify hosts the site, receives contact form messages and filters out spam submissions.
• Google provides Google Analytics (only if you accept), Google Fonts, and the Gmail inbox where I read and answer email.

I may also share information if the law requires it, for example to answer a valid court order.

Cookies

The site itself doesn't need cookies to work. The only cookies are Google Analytics cookies (names start with _ga), and they're only set after you click "Accept." You can change your mind any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Declining also deletes the analytics cookies this site set. You can block cookies in your browser settings too, or use Google's opt-out add-on.

How long I keep it

I keep contact form messages and your contact info for as long as we're talking about a project, and for as long as you're a client plus whatever time tax and business record rules require. You can ask me to delete it sooner. Google Analytics data is kept for no more than 14 months.

Your choices and rights

• Accept or decline analytics any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of the page.
• Ask me what information I have about you, or ask me to correct or delete it, by emailing builtbykyrell@gmail.com. I'll take care of it within 30 days.

California residents: you have the right to know what personal information I've collected about you, to ask me to delete or correct it, and to not be treated differently for using these rights. I don't sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Kids

This site is for business owners. It isn't meant for children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent me information, email me and I'll delete it.

Security

The site is only served over a secure, encrypted connection (HTTPS), and I keep access to messages limited to me. No website can promise perfect security, but I take reasonable steps to protect what you send.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
